Authored by Janwillem Schrofer, director of Amsterdam’s Rijksakademie from 1982 to 2010, this book invites the aspiring artist to reach considerations that will help to determine his/her position, often based on analytical models. Schrofer knows from practical experience the complexity of the artist’s questions and dilemmas, as well as the important role of self-reflection and self-determination.
